The First Cup
The Covenant Membership rite. The candidate affirms the Creed and receives the congregation’s welcome.
The Joining of Cups
The marriage or commitment rite. Partners pour from separate vessels into a shared cup, symbolizing union without erasure of personhood.
The First Welcome
A naming or child-welcome rite in which the community promises safety, learning, hospitality, creativity, and reasons to laugh.
The Receiving of the Lamp
Ordination of a Celebrant after prescribed study, supervised practice, examination, and approval.
The Mending of the Cup
A reconciliation rite following conflict or harm. It is never imposed where contact would be unsafe.
The Last Toast
A memorial rite in which grief and humorous remembrance may coexist. Stories of what the deceased found funny are especially welcome.
The rites are religious services rather than magical transactions. Their meaning arises from communal witness, vows, memory, doctrine, and practice. Civil legal effects, where relevant, depend on applicable law and proper authorization.
